Man arrested over weekend assault that left another man seriously injured in Naas

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A MAN HAS been arrested over an early-morning assault in Kildare that left another man with serious injuries at the weekend.

The incident happened on Naas’ North Main Street at around 2.45am on Sunday.

The injured party, who is aged in his 30s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment, where he remains.

Gardaí said a man in his 20s was arrested this morning and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Investigators have reissued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

They are particularly appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of North Main Street between 2.20am and 3am on Sunday, and who may have video footage that they could provide gardaí.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Naas Garda Station, Garda Confidential Line, or any garda station.
