Man charged after 21.5kg of cannabis discovered in baggage of passenger on flight from Malaga

The drugs have an estimated value of over €430,000.

A MAN IN his 30s has been charged in connection to the seizure of 21.5 kilograms of herbal cannabis at Dublin Airport yesterday.

The herbal cannabis was discovered concealed in vacuum packed packages within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked from a flight originating from Malaga.  

The illicit drugs have an estimated value of over €430,000.

A man in his 30s was arrested by gardaí and has since been charged.

He was scheduled to appear before the courts this morning.

As the incident is now before the courts, a garda spokesperson said there will be no further comment.

The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.

The seizure was part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
