Man (40s) dies after car crashes into wall in Cork

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A MAN HAS died in a single vehicle collision in Cork.

Gardaí said that a man (40s) died after the car he was driving crashed this morning at 9.45 at Ballinwillin Strand in Ballycotton, Co Cork.

It is believed the car crashed into a wall.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

The man was the sole occupant of the car.

The scene of the crash has been preserved for a technical examination. Garda forensic collision investigators are at the scene and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for and witnesses or anyone who may have information on the crash to contact them at Midleton garda station on (021) 462 1550.
