Man dies in swimming incident at disused Kildare quarry

A young man has died after apparently getting into difficulty while swimming in a disused quarry in Co Kildare.

A MAN HAS died in a swimming incident at a disused quarry in Co Kildare.

It is believed that the man, 22, got into difficulties while swimming with friends at the quarry on Saturday, and was pronounced dead at 7.30pm that evening.

Hi body had been removed to the Mortuary at Naas.

The Garda Underwater Unit were involved in the search.
