Man due in court over Cork assault

The victim was found unconscious at a roadside in Cork city on Friday afternoon.

A MAN IN his 30s is due to appear in court this morning charged in relation with a serious assault in Cork city on Friday afternoon.

The victim, who is also in his 30s, was found unconscious at a roadside on Kerryhall Road in Fairhill at around 2.30pm on 4 May. He is being treated for his injuries at Cork University Hospital.

Two men were arrested in relation to the assault yesterday morning. One will appear at a sitting of Cork District Court at 10.30 this morning.

The second man, who is in his 50s, was released without charge on Saturday night. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
