Two men charged after gardaí discover €660,000 of cannabis in Cork city

The two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, appeared before a special sitting of Mallow District Court this evening.

GARDAÍ ARRESTED TWO men after searches led to the discovery of €660,000 worth of cannabis in Cork city.

On Thursday, gardaí stopped and searched a vehicle in Cork city. They seized €50,000 worth of cannabis from the vehicle.

A number of follow-up searches were carried out under warrant at locations in Cork city leading to the further seizure of €610,000 worth of suspected cannabis.

The two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested and charged, and have appeared before a special sitting of Mallow District Court this evening.

Both men have been remanded to appear before Cork District Court on Wednesday, 22 April.

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Investigations into the seizures remain ongoing.
