What’s this then?

This is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and this AMG-Line model is the sole version of this car in Ireland. It can be yours for €168,060.

What’s so special about it?

The S-Class is the flagship range of Mercedes-Benz. As a result, S-Class models are used to show off the company’s top-of-the-range technology, safety features and design.

This particular two-door Coupe model in AMG-Line is a stunning combination of performance, luxury and refinement and is packed full of fabulous features like the latest and greatest in connectivity and pre-safety systems, as well as outstanding performance and driving dynamics.

Any standout design features?

Being the flagship of the Mercedes range, the S-Class has a long list of standout features including its intelligent, all-LED headlamps that adapt to curves in the road and cars ahead as well as the wafer-thin organic LED (OLED) elements that turn the rear lights into a three-dimensional sculpture that changes with your viewing angle.

Oh, and you can also have your lights bedazzled with Swarovski crystals, darling.

And what powers this Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe?

At the heart of this S 560 Coupe is a direct-injected 463hp 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine. Its twin turbos are nested in the “hot V” of the engine, to rush-deliver its 700Nm of torque and bring you to 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds. It is paired with a slick and smooth paddle-shifted 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

Plus, 4Matic permanent all-wheel drive continually sends the S 560 Coupe’s biturbo torque to the wheels that can use it best.

Does the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe have any luxurious touches?

Apart from the crystal headlights? This particular example features upgraded 20-inch alloy wheels, a full leather interior, four individually contoured seats, wireless phone charging, the Mercedes COMMAND sat nav system, 64-color LED ambient lighting, a panoramic roof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a Burmester Sound System.

But who would drive this car?

Someone who has deep pockets and a healthy addiction to fast cars and the finer things in life. It will also suit someone who likes to stand out from the motoring crowd, as this car isn’t exactly understated, but it is still incredibly tasteful and classy.
