Young man dies in Tipperary after his motorbike crashed into a sign

He is the 46th person to lose their life on Irish roads this year.

A MOTORCYCLIST HAS died in county Tipperary after a crash in the Urlingford area.

The 25-year-old man was driving on the R689 at about 8.45pm yesterday when he crashed into a sign.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Kilkenny hospital.

The victim is the 46th person and fourth motorcyclist to lose their lives on Irish roads this year.

The road remains closed and local diversions are in place. Gardaí have appealed to witnesses to contact them at the Thurles station.
