New arrest in Ballyfermot murder case

Gardaí arrested a man in relation to the murder of David Darcy, who was shot dead as he sat in a van in Ballyfermot on the morning of 28 November.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE shooting dead of David Darcy in Ballyfermot in November have arrested a man in his 40s.

Gardaí investigating the murder made the arrest yesterday morning. The man was detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 before being released without charge late last night.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

David Darcy was shot dead as he sat in a van outside a house on Cherry Orchard Avenue on the morning of 28 November.

A 49-year-old woman appeared in court in late December charged in relation to the murder.
