SILVERACRE HOUSE IN Rathfarnham has quite the historical heritage.
Apart from renowned former residents including Rev Henthorn Todd, a professor of Hebrew at Trinity College Dublin, and Dr Albert Croly, a surgeon and the founder of the Baggot Street Hospital, the elegant Regency architecture of the house (which dates from 1830) brings quite the touch of class to the area.
In addition to Silveracre House (a four-bedroom period house available for purchase) and the Lodge (a three-bedroom period house which was formerly the rear wing of Silveracre House), there are six new houses on the grounds, consisting of four- and three-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses available through DNG via Daft.ie.
These houses are large and well-designed with a high level of insulation giving an A-rating BER, solid wood Shaker kitchens, and landscaped gardens with rear limestone patios. There are three different styles of house available.
Amare – This is a four-bedroom, three storey detached house (of which there are four available) with a zinc roof and a spacious internal layout. There’s a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite in the master bedroom, a utility off the open-plan kitchen/dining room and a landscaped west-facing rear garden with stone paving to extend the living space.
Glenmore – This is an extremely large four-bedroom detached house surrounded by 200 year old trees and surrounded by the original cut-stone walls that form part of the grounds of this house.
Inside there are two separate reception rooms to the front of this house downstairs with an open-plan kitchen and dining room to the rear of the property. Upstairs, the master bedroom has walk-in wardrobes and is en-suite as are two of the other bedrooms.
Glenquinn - This is another four-bedroom two-storey detached house, designed with the same high levels of insulation, Shaker kitchen and limestone patio in the sunny rear garden as well as a view of St Enda’s Park to the rear.
Throughout this development, the interiors feature timber flooring on the ground floors, with carpeting on the upper floors.
The palette consists of elegant neutral muted tones that highlight the classic features of each of the properties, as well as touches of more modern styles in some details – like the feature wall in the master bedrooms.
Silveracre is available through DNG via Daft.ie.
