A MAN IN his 30s has appeared in court charged with the murder of Noreen Daly.
Ms Daly was found dead at a property in the Ardsallagh area near Youghal Bridge in Co Waterford on Monday afternoon. She was in her 80s.
33-year-old Finn Yowell, with an address provided at Old School House, Ardsallagh, in Ticknock, Co Waterford, appeared in Carrick-on-Suir District Court this morning charged with murder.
Garda Stephen Condon told the court the accused was charged at 9.55am this morning.
Judge John O’Leary remanded him in continued custody until Tuesday 23 June to Clonmel District Court for DPP instructions.
Solicitor for Yowell, Ken Cunningham, said the question of bail doesn’t arise due to the seriousness of the charge.
He asked that the accused be psychiatrically examined and medically evaluated while in custody.
