Olympic tickets committee meeting suspended after staff member taken to hospital

The morning session was suspended after the man became ill.

THE OIREACHTAS COMMITTEE on Transport, Tourism and Sport has been suspended after an Oireachtas staff member took ill.

The staff member was taken from Leinster House by ambulance. No further details on his condition have been given.

The session has been suspended for the day and will now be held instead tomorrow at 9pm.

The committee had been discussing the findings and recommendations of the report by Justice Carroll Moran into the distribution of tickets for the Rio Olympic Games.

The morning session was suspended after the man became ill. The live webstream of the meeting was ended, as the session was declared suspended.

Medical assistance was sought, and emergency services attended the scene.

The Committee had been scheduled to meet again this afternoon to hear testimony from members of the Olympic Council of Ireland.

However, Solidarity-PBP TD Mick Barry told TheJournal.ie that there was ample reason to suspend the proceedings for the day.

Comments are closed due to ongoing legal proceedings.
