Pat Kenny's Newstalk show moving from weekdays to weekends next year

Newstalk has not announced who will take over Kenny’s existing slot from Mondays to Fridays.

BROADCASTER PAT KENNY’S Newstalk show is moving from weekdays to weekends from spring of next year.

Newstalk has confirmed that Kenny, who currently presents his show from 9am to 12pm throughout the work week, will be moving to weekend slots instead.

The radio station has not announced who will take over Kenny’s existing slot from Mondays to Fridays.

It said it will announce plans for the station’s schedule “in due course”.

Speaking on Newstalk this morning, Kenny said that he had extended his Newstalk contract into 2026 .

“This show will continue unchanged into the new year but in the spring of next year, I’m moving the Pat Kenny Show to the weekends, Saturday and Sunday, where I hope to make a big impact for the station,” he said.

“The reason for saying this is I just want to thank all of you for helping to make this show the biggest show on commercial radio. But for now, the shows goes on.”

Newstalk also said that Kenny is set to join the board of Bauer Media Audio Ireland, the company that operates Newstalk, Today FM, and several other radio stations around the country.
