A MAN IN his 80s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Co Louth.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the crash on the N33 at Cappocksgreen in Ardee shortly after 3pm.
The driver of the car was transported by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem will take place in due course, the results of which will assist gardaí in determining the course of their inquiries.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene. Local traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly appealing to any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to them.
