Garda investigation as man dies in early morning road collision in County Kildare

The incident happened this morning at 5.25am, when the pedestrian who was in 50s, was knocked down at Mylerstown area, Robertstown.

A MAN DIED this morning when he was struck by a car on a roadway in County Kildare. 

The incident happened this morning at 5.25am, when the pedestrian who was in 50s, was knocked down at Mylerstown area, Robertstown.

A garda statement said that the scene is closed as they await forensic collision experts to complete their examination.

“The pedestrian, a male in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been transferred to hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

“No other injuries have been reported. The scene remains preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

“Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision to come forward,” the statement said.

Gardaí have asked anyone who was travelling on the road or in the area, 5am and 5:45am and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make contact with them.
