So you want a mid-engined two-seat sports car? Something for the driving enthusiast that offers an engaging drive with sharp steering and room for my designer luggage?
I’d buy the new Porsche 718 Cayman S.
Why a Porsche 718 Cayman S?
This is a very involving sports car that looks and sounds great. It is very sweet to drive with lots of power and plenty of pace. It offers serious levels of fun whether you take it out for long motorway drives or test its limits on the back roads.
And it’s also deceptively spacious, with a generous amount of room in two luggage compartments. Plenty of space for your Louis Vuitton!
What’s special about this particular one?
Look at that full Bordeaux red leather interior! It’s like the VIP room of Lillie’s Bordello on wheels. A home away from home for Porsche owners, right?
This particular model also has the PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which is super slick and quick. It rolls on gorgeous 20-inch wheels and is kitted out with everything you need to make this a luxury sports car.
This 718 Cayman S is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo with 350hp. It does the 0-100km/h dash in 4.4 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 285km/h. Phwoar!
What does it look like in action?
Check out this glossy Porsche advert for the 718 Cayman S and just admire that wonderful styling.
Then you can watch its hot lap around the Nordschleife in this video.
Who else drives one?
Porsches have movie star good looks and have starred in numerous movies including Risky Business, Scent of a Woman, and Against All Odds.
And Dylan in Beverly Hills 90210 drove a Porsche, you don’t get much cooler than that!
Off-screen, other notable Porsche owners include Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Gates and Tom Cruise – but this new 718 Cayman S only launched a few months ago so you’d be the trendsetter!
What else could you get for the money?
This car costs €109,882. For that kind of cash, you could also have this house in Co. Clare…
…or this Rapido Motorhome!
