Rain Rain Go Away

Goodbye bank holiday- hello rain warnings and wet commutes

It’s looking worst in Donegal where a status yellow rainfall warning kicked into place at 6am.

IT’S CURRENTLY POURING down over much of the country- meaning a very wet commute for thousands after a relaxing (but also wet) bank holiday weekend.

A rain warning has been in place from 7pm yesterday evening and will continue until 7 this evening.

AA Roadwatch is warning that roads are very wet in most areas and all motorists are being asked to be extra vigilant. Crashes have been reported in Dublin and Kildare this morning.

It’s looking worst in Donegal where a status yellow rainfall warning kicked into place from 6am and will continue until 6 tomorrow morning.

An estimated 25 to 32 mm of rain is expected through today and tonight with some spot flooding likely.

Met Éireann says it will become dry elsewhere this evening – apart from showers across the western half of the country.

But don’t get too excited, the rain is due to spread countrywide again tonight. Of course it is.
