Renault launches its all-new Koleos SUV in Ireland

Available to order now, the five-seat SUV is priced from €34,490.

RENAULT HAS LAUNCHED its five-seat Koleos SUV in Ireland. It is the third addition to its SUV family, sitting above the Captur and Kadjar in the Irish range.

It is a classy looking car, which adopts the Renault family face with a broad chrome grille incorporating the central Renault logo and styling cues are lifted from the Megane, especially around the back with those dominating long tail lights that stretch across the boot.

The all-new Koleos is based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-C/D architecture, which is also used for the Renault Kadjar and Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail. The Koleos also features All-Mode 4×4-i technology, which allows for two-wheel drive (front-drive) and four-wheel drive Auto modes.

The Koleos is an imposing car with a wheelbase of 2,710mm, an overall length of 4,670mm, a width of 1,840mm and ground clearance of 213mm. It has a generous 624-litre boot capacity with Renault claiming “class-leading cabin space, including 289mm of rear knee room”.

In Ireland, there is a choice of two diesel engines – a 130hp or 175hp 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit – mated to either an X-Tronic automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. There are two trim levels: Dynamique S Nav and Signature Nav.

As standard, all models get Renault’s advanced driver assistance systems, including Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition with Over-speed Prevention and Hill Start Assist as well as a rear parking camera with front and rear parking sensors.

Standard safety features include ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) with traction and understeer control, cruise control, speed limiter and ISOFIX points on the two outer rear seats.

Dynamique S Nav models get 18-inch ‘Agapi’ two-tone alloy wheels, longitudinal roof bars, an opening panoramic sunroof, a seven-inch touchscreen R-LINK2 multimedia system which includes satellite navigation with TomTom LIVE traffic updates, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity.

Signature Nav models get 19-inch ‘Galiki’ two-tone alloy wheels and full LED ‘Pure Vision’ headlights, an 8.7-inch portrait touchscreen R-LINK2 multimedia system and a powered automatic tailgate.

The all-new Koleos is priced from €34,490 for the Dynamique S Nav dCi 130 model and is available to order now.
