Young girl airlifted to hospital after being hit by car

The girl was hit near Cortubber, near Ballybay.

A YOUNG GIRL is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car.

The girl was struck at Cortubber near Ballybay shortly before 8pm last night.

She was airlifted to Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin, where her condition is described as serious.

The R183 between Ballybay and Swan’s Cross is closed to facilitate Garda forensic examinations.

Elsewhere, a boy was hit by a bus in Clondalkin in Dublin yesterday at 5pm. He was taken to Tallaght Hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
