Man (20s) in serious condition after his scrambler bike collided with street light pole

The man was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, but has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

A MAN IS in a serious condition in hospital after the scrambler bike he was driving collided with a street light pole in Dublin. 

The collision happened at around 5pm on the Royal Canal Way in Ashtown Gate, Dublin 15 on Sunday, 17 August. 

The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

No other injuries were reported, and a technical examination of the area has since been conducted.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

They are particularly appealing to pedestrians on the Royal Canal Way between the M50 Aqueduct and Ashtown Rail Station to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling in the Ashtown area between 4.45pm and 5.15pm on Sunday are asked to make this footage available.
