Each week, we ask someone based in Ireland with a passion for interiors to share one photo of their favourite spot in their home.
This week, Siobhan Crowe (@poppaeas_cottage) chatted us through her favourite spot: this cosy corner of her kitchen.
I love the sense of warmth and homeliness in here. While I love having everything in its place, this is a home. It’s a two-bed, one-bathroom cottage so there is no space that isn’t used or lived in.
I love the mustard dresser, which I bought on DoneDeal. We painted it using Neptune Mustard and I just love the way it sits quietly in the corner and houses everyday items.
I didn’t tidy especially before taking this photo. I’m 100% a clean freak and tidy the whole house every day. My head isn’t right until it’s done. I even vacuum on Christmas morning. I’ve done that for 25 years, so I’m not going to stop now. I’d like to think if you visited my house, the pictures I share on Instagram are what you’d see. I’m not moving pot plants and sheepskin rugs about just for a good picture.
I get inspiration from different eras. I love period dramas, Miss Marple and anything old.
I’d love to build on a glass box-style extension and make our kitchen bigger.
