Founder of SNA Support and Inspire, Oneesa McWeeney, thanked all who had submitted nominations for the award.

“The response was truly overwhelming – filled with emotion, gratitude, and admiration for the incredible work SNAs do every single day,” she said.

“Every nomination reflected compassion, commitment, and professionalism.”

She added that it is “clear” that SNAs’ role in school communities goes beyond just supporting students, but in “fostering inclusive, caring” environments.

Blount was chosen as the winner of the award by an experienced judging panel. The award was supported by Dunnes Stores, Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens, Audrey Hamilton Apparel, and the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals.

Three runners-up from three schools in Dublin were recognised for their dedication and commitment: Deirdre Harrington from Rathcoole Educate Together National School in Saggart; Mary Carrick from St Brigid’s Girls National School in Killester; and Ita Fennell from Coláiste Cois Life in Leamhcán.

McWeeney thanked all who had been involved with the award and the recognition of SNAs nationally.
