St Patrick's Day weather will be a mix of everything (but it looks like it won't rain, at least)

There’s some good news for the week ahead.

THE WEATHER FOR St Patrick’s Day will be a mix of wind, showers and dry spells across the country.

Met Eireann said Tuesday will be relatively mild but noticeably breezy with outbreaks of rain across Atlantic counties, while staying largely dry elsewhere with some sunny spells.

Temperatures are getting warmer with highs of 11 to 15 degrees in a fresh to strong and gusty southwest wind bringing the heat with it.

The weather gets better as the week goes on as things settle and from midweek Ireland will see mostly dry and fairly calm weather, with mild temperatures.

If you are out and about on Tuesday night it will be mostly dry but with some mist, drizzle and fog in places. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 9 degrees, coldest under clear skies in Atlantic counties with light winds.

On Wednesday there will be patchy rain or drizzle, but amounts will be small and some areas staying fully dry. Early morning mist and fog will tend to clear, and some sunny spells will develop later in the day. Relatively mild with light easterly or variable breezes. Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, mildest across Leinster and south Munster.

The best day of the week will be Thursday as forecasters predict “widespread spring sunshine”.

The temperatures will be between 12 to 18 degrees in light moderate easterly winds, but along coasts there will be some cooling. The day’s highs won’t last as it is predicted to be cold after dark with lows of 1 to 4 degrees.

Then Friday will be an another dry day with spells of hazy sunshine in light breezes. Highest temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees, best values further west.

The Weekend looks like it will be cooler but staying dry with light winds.
