• Tens of thousands of people filled the streets of Dublin today for the capital’s annual Pride parade, as the city continues to host a packed programme of celebrations, performances and community events.
• DJ and nightclub events at Yamamori Izakaya in Dublin will end next month after the venue and the adjoining Hoxton Hotel reached an agreement following a High Court dispute over noise.
• The Irish woman who was trapped on the expedition cruise ship at the centre of the recent Hantavirus outbreak has spoken publicly about her experience for the first time. She said she plans to go on a similar trip next year to mark her 80th birthday. 
• The operators of a popular food market and sauna in Dublin are fighting to stay open after being told to close by Dublin City Council.
• Two men have been charged after an off-duty garda was “pursued” and suffered serious facial injuries and a concussion when he was recognised in Dublin city centre.

#CLIMATE CRISIS 193 million people across Europe were expected to experience temperatures above 35 degrees today as the record-breaking heatwave shifts eastwards.

#IRAN The US launched fresh strikes on Iran after accusing Tehran of violating the ceasefire by attacking a commercial cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting Iran to retaliate against US military sites in the Gulf.

Tens of thousands of people gathered in soaring temperatures in Hungary’s capital today to celebrate the 31st annual Budapest Pride, the first such LGBTQI+ march since former prime minister Viktor Orban, who had sought to ban the event, was ousted in April’s election.

The march began on Saturday afternoon as temperatures reached at least 38 °C amid the record-breaking heatwave that has gripped most of Europe.
