BBC confirm release date for new season of The Traitors UK - and it's coming soon
A new group of faithfuls and traitors arrive on our screens in a few weeks
THE BBC HAS confirmed the release date for the highly-anticipated fourth season of The Traitors.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, a new group of faithfuls and traitors are set to arrive on our screens on New Year’s Day at 8pm on BBC One. The second episode will follow the night after on Friday 2 January.
The season will see 22 people compete to win up to £120,000.
The BBC have told fans to expect “even more twists, turns, secrets, epic missions, deception, banishments and, of course, murders aplenty”.
The Scottish castle reopens its doors not long after the recent first season of The Celebrity Traitors drew to an end, which broke BBC viewing records with over 15 million people tuning in to the final.
The new season of The Traitors – which is set to feature ‘regular’ people rather than celebrities – will consist of 12 episodes aired over four weeks.
The BBC has also confirmed the return of the accompanying show The Traitors: Uncloaked which is set to air on BBC Two immediately after each episode of the main series.
Ed Gamble returns to host Uncloaked, and he will be joined by celebrities and players from previous series to analyse and react to developments in the castle.
Originally a Dutch show, The Traitors has gone worldwide, with many countries now having their own version.
The Traitors Ireland, hosted by actress Siobhán McSweeney and set in Slane Castle, aired earlier this year.
The Irish version was a massive success with viewers, with RTÉ planning to release a second season.
