Under Operation Laidir – which was set up to target burglaries carried out by “travelling criminals” in the southeast – garda units searched the properties and seized four vehicles, as well as a number of other items.
Seven males and two females are being detained in garda stations in Carlow, Kilkenny and Thomastown. They range in age from juveniles to those in their mid-50s.
The operation was led by gardaí in Kilkenny, Carlow and Thomastown. They were assisted by other members of the force from the South East Region, the Meath division and the Organised Crime Unit.
