Two men arrested in dissident republican investigation

Two guns found at the scene are undergoing analysis.

TWO MEN WERE in custody today as part of a Garda investigation into dissident republican activity.

The men, aged in their 30s and 60s, were brought in for questioning by members of the special detective  unit and members of the crime and security division.

Two handguns found at the scene in James St are set to undergo technical examinations.

A follow up search in Limerick yielded a find of a quantity of ammunition.

The two males are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Clondalkin Garda Station and investigations are ongoing.
