Two arrested over the suspected racist attack on an Indian man in Tallaght last July

The victim, who is aged in his 40s, was stripped of his pants and underwear during the attack which triggered anti-racism protests.

TWO MALES HAVE been arrested over the suspected racist attack on an Indian man in Tallaght last July.

As part of the investigation into the assault of a male in his 40s, at Parkhill Lawns, Kilnamanagh, Dublin 24 on 19 July 2025, Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s and a male juvenile teen.

Both males are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Garda Stations in South Dublin.

The man involved was stripped of his pants and underwear during the attack which triggered anti-racism protests.

Crowds marched from Dublin’s City Hall to the Dáil in July following the attack - which was condemned as racist by local representatives.

The protest, which was supported by a number of groups, was organised by members of the migrant community in Ireland.

Ahead of the protest, organisers said that the migrant community in Ireland is “extremely angry” at the attack, and that it is one of many that has taken place.

Investigations are ongoing.
