Unsettled weather with rain and cloud for Bank Holiday weekend

Some sunshine is expected to occasionally break through the clouds today.

RAIN SPELLS AND cloudy weather are expected to continue throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, according to Met Éireann.

The national forecaster has forecast generally unsettled weather as the overall low pressure will continue to dominate, bringing further spells of rain or showers at times.

Some sunshine is expected to occasionally break through the clouds today.

Forecast

Today, cloud and outbreaks of rain will continue to affect much of Leinster and Ulster through the morning with sunny spells and a few showers developing elsewhere.

Rain will become lighter and patchier as the day goes on. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees are expected.

Tonight will start off with scattered showers and clear spells at first, along with some patches of mist and fog. Cloud and outbreaks of rain will move into the west later tonight. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees are expected.

There will be more scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle tomorrow morning, but dry and bright conditions are expected to follow. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees are forecast.

Sunday night will remain dry with long clear spells, however it will be cold with frost forming as temperatures fall to between -2 and 4 degrees. 

The Bank Holiday Monday will begin cold and dry, but rain and cloud will develop through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees are expected.

Monday night will be cloudy, with outbreaks of rain or drizzle. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees are expected.

Tuesday will continue to be cloudy with outbreaks of rain or drizzle slowly becoming more widespread. Highest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees are expected.

This weather will continue into Tuesday night, with lowest temperatures 2 to 5 degrees expected.

Wednesday will be another cloudy day with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees are expected.
