Is it ever going to stop raining? Not at the moment, but things are looking up later this week

According to Met Éireann, today will be bright with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers.

AFTER TWO DAYS of scattered showers over much of the country, there’s more on the way.

Met Éireann is forecasting more rain for the rest of the week, though it’s looking like things will turn drier and sunnier after Friday.

Today is set to be bright with some sunny spells and scattered showers, which will become more isolated through the afternoon before more cloud gathers in the west and southwest. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16C.

It will stay mostly dry tonight with clear spells, but rain and drizzle in the west and southwest will gradually spread northeastwards across the country. Temperatures will fall to between seven and 10 degrees.

Thursday will have a dull and wet start with widespread rain and drizzle at first, which will become patchier later in the day – though there will be no let-up in the cloud. Temperatures of between 13 and 17C with moderate southerly winds.

It will remain cloudy and damp on Thursday night, with patchy rain and drizzle and temperatures of 10 to 14C.

There will be more rain and drizzle on Friday morning, which will spread eastwards throughout the morning. But drier and brighter weather will extend from the northwest in afternoon, with sunny spells, scattered showers and with highs of 15 to 20C.

Friday night will be mostly dry with some isolated showers in the north and northwest. It will be a mild night too, with lows of between 12 to 15C.

It will be a dry day on Saturday with sunny spells and highs of 17 to 21C, though cooler in Ulster and west Connacht with temperatures of 13 to 16C.

Sunday is also expected to be dry with spells of sunshine and a light northeasterly breeze. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20C in a light easterly breeze.
