A WIND WARNING is in place for seven counties until 8pm this evening, with four more counties to remain under a warning until midnight.
Counties Clare, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Galway, Wexford, and Wicklow faced weather that is “very windy with strong and gusty south to southwest winds and gales near coasts” from 2pm, to continue until 8pm, Met Éireann warned.
Potential impacts include difficult traveling conditions, some fallen trees and branches, loose objects being displaced, and some wave overtopping.
From 4pm, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo faced the same conditions. The wind warning will remain in place until midnight.
More generally, today will be wet and windy with outbreaks of rain.
Met Éireann said the temperature will be milder than recent days, with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
