Woman arrested over murder of 11-year-old released without charge

The woman was arrested yesterday by gardaí investigating the 2012 death of Emily Barut.

A WOMAN ARRESTED yesterday as part of the investigation into the murder of Emily Barut in 2012 has been released without charge.

The woman, in her 50s, was being held at Tullamore Garda Station.

She was released late last night, and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Emily Barut’s body was found at her home at Bachelor’s Walk, Tullamore, in September 2012.

The 11-year-old was a wheelchair user and had both mental and physical disabilities.

Her mother, a local GP, was also found unconscious in the house.
