A WOMAN IN her 80s and a man in his 40s have died following separate collisions in Co Tipperary this morning.

The woman died in a single-vehicle crash that occurred between midnight and 2:20am this morning in the village of Toomevara, around 10km east of Nenagh.

Gardaí have closed the road for a technical examination and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

The deceased has been taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem, and traffic diversions remain in place.

Separately, also in Co Tipperary, a man in his 40s died after a single road traffic collision in Birdhill in the early hours of this morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and has been brought to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem will take place.

The road remains closed at the scene, which is preserved pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either collision to contact them.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067 50450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station,” a garda spokesperson said.
