Garda investigation launched after woman found dead in Galway home

The woman was pronounced dead at her residence in Sáile Chuanna yesterday evening.

GARDAÍ IN CONAMARA are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman at a house in Co Galway yesterday.

Emergency services were alerted on Friday evening, and attended the woman’s home in in the village of Sáile Chuanna near An Spidéal.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

She is understood to be from the local area.

The scene has been preserved for technical and forensic examination, and a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death. 

The body of the woman remains at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing, a garda spokesperson said, adding: “no further information is available at this time.”
