Woman dies in Limerick car crash

A 58-year-old woman has died after sustaining fatal injuries in a single-car collision on the Cappamore to Doon Road.

GARDAÍ IN BRUFF are investigating the circumstances of a fatal car crash in Limerick this afternoon.

A 58-year-old woman was seriously injured when the car she was driving collided with a tree at about 4.15pm. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle and nobody else was harmed in the accident.

The Cappamore to Doon Road is currently closed for forensic examinations and local diversions are in place.
