Alex White had his car stolen last week

A briefcase was also stolen during the burglary, but the Department of Communications has said it didn’t contain any sensitive documents.

ALEX WHITE’S CAR has been recovered in Crumlin after it was stolen from his house in Terenure last Thursday night.

A number of electronic devices were also stolen from the Communication Minister’s house, as was a briefcase.

A spokesman from the Department of Communications confirmed that most of the items taken have since been recovered, including the car – a Ford Fusion – and the briefcase.

“No sensitive State papers were stolen and there is no cause for concern in this regard.

“The Minster believes this was an opportunistic burglary and he would like to put this matter behind him.”

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed that an investigation was ongoing following the incident.
