AN POST HAS announced an exclusive stamp collection to celebrate Westlife as the band marks its 25th anniversary.  

The collection includes a booklet of four National Rate “N” stamps, with one dedicated to each of the four band members: Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan.

There will be 80,000 booklets available, alongside 12,000 copies of a €3 souvenir “band” stamp sheet.  

An Post has said the stamps will pay tribute to the band’s “global success as artists and their role as wonderful ambassadors for Ireland and its music.” 

The limited edition stamps were created by Irish designer Shaughn McGrath Creative in collaboration with Westlife.

There is also a First Day Cover (a souvenir envelope on the first day a stamp is issued) available with exclusive Westlife photography and a special commemorative ‘Sligo’ date stamp, paying homage to members Filan, Feehily and Egan’s home county. 

The stamps are available to purchase from today.

Aileen Mooney, An Post’s Irish Stamps Manager, said that An Post is proud “to celebrate Westlife’s incredible journey” and described the stamps as “more than postage”.

“The [stamps] are a celebration of Irish culture, a keepsake for fans, and a lasting tribute to 25 years of Westlife,” Mooney said. 

Westlife formed in Dublin in July 1998. It originally had a fifth member, Brian McFadden, who left the group in March 2004 to pursue a solo career. 

The band has sold 55 million records worldwide, has 11 number one albums in Ireland and 14 UK number one singles. During their 25-year career, the group have won two Brit awards and four MTV awards.
