Two arrested after drugs worth €470k discovered

The men in their thirties were arrested after cocaine and cannabis herb were found by gardaí.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested and a quantity of drugs seized in Co Tipperary.

Gardaí arrested two men and seized a quantity of drugs following an operation in Co Tipperary yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí from Tipperary and Limerick drug units searched a house at Ballywire, Kilross, Co Tipperary, during which they discovered 20kg of cannabis herb and 1kg of cocaine.

The drugs have an estimated street value in excess of €470,000, subject to analysis.

Two men in their 30s were arrested at the scene and taken to Tipperary Garda Station where they are detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1896.

The men can be detained for up to seven days.
