Four arrests in garda dissident republicans investigation

The four were arrested outside Tullamore in Co Offally last night as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.

FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been arrested in Offaly by gardaí carrying out an ongoing investigation into the activities of dissident republicans.

The four were arrested at Rahan, outside Tullamore in Co Offaly last night by gardaí from the special detective unit and supported by national units.

Two firearms were also recovered at the scene.

Three men, in their 20s and 30s, and one woman, in her 20s, are currently being detained at Tullamore and Mullingar Garda stations under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
