Appeal for witnesses to serious three-car collision

A five-year-old girl was seriously injured in the incident.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a serious three-car collision that took place in Co Galway last night.

Athenry gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the serious road traffic collision, which occurred on the M6 at Newford, Athenry, Co Galway at approximately 7pm last night.

All three vehicles were travelling westbound towards Galway when the incident occurred.

Five people were taken to University Hospital Galway, and a five-year-old girl was subsequently transferred to Temple St hospital in Dublin. Her condition is described as serious.
