Minor hiccup sees delays for some Bank of Ireland customers

Customers took to social media after their balances didn’t update this morning – but all has been fixed now.

A MINOR HICCUP at Bank of Ireland led to a delay in some customers being paid this morning

Concerned customers took to social media after their balances hadn’t updated with salaries or other transfers which were due to be paid in to their accounts today.

Many people were expecting their final pay cheque before Christmas today.

“No wages for me thanks to Bank of Ireland, it’s only the weekend before Christmas. Lovely!” one customer tweeted.

A Bank of Ireland spokesperson said the issue has now been fixed and all balances are updated.

“A file was delayed coming into Bank of Ireland which resulted in a delay of a couple of hours,” the spokesperson told TheJournal.ie. “All is restored now”.

The file contained a mixture of salaries and person-to-person transfers.

Some customers’ accounts make take several hours to update but the spokesperson said they will all be fixed by later today.
