It’s been emotional.

YouTube: Chris Hadfield

HE’S KEPT US entertained like no other astronaut with stunning pictures, funny videos and practical guides to shaving in space but Commander Chris Hadfield’s time at the International Space Station has come to an end.

Hadfield’s active presence on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube where he has been posting clips explaining his extra-terrestrial life has garnered worldwide attention and we love him here for his stunning pictures of our little old country.

Hadfield and two of his astronaut companions, Tom Marshburn and Roman Romanenko, are leaving the ISS today and he bid a fitting farewell with a rendition of David Bowie’s Space Oddity.

The vocals and guitar were done on board the ISS while the piano and other musical instruments were done down here on plain, old Earth.

Thanks Commander, it’s been a blast.
