A GROUP OF strangers who came on the scene of a serious crash in Utah yesterday joined forces to push the car aside and rescue a motorcyclist trapped underneath.
Brand Wright, 21, was riding on his motorbike when he collided with a black BMW pulling out of a parking lot.
Authorities say that skid marks on the scene indicate that the bike came down and slid along the road before striking the car. After hitting the front of the car, Wright slid underneath the BMW and both vehicles burst into flames. It is understood the gas line on the bike was severed after impact, leading to the fire.
Around ten bystanders rushed over to rescue him, tilting the car up and pushing it aside to allow Wright to be pulled out from under the burning vehicle.
Speaking from hospital today, where he was rushed in critical condition following the crash, Curtis told The Associated Press that “those people are heroes”.
“Every one of those people put their lives in danger,” he said.
Wright suffered a number of broken bones and cuts in the incident. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
