ONE PERSON HAS been killed after more than 1,500 migrants tried to storm the Eurotunnel terminal.

British Prime Minister David Cameron today expressed concern over the attempt by migrants to enter Britain from the French port town of Calais via the Eurotunnel.

He said it has invested in fencing around the tunnel and promised the two countries would work together more to tackle the issue.

“This is very concerning,” he told reporters during a visit in Singapore, adding that “we are working very closely” with French authorities to address the situation.

He added that Home Secretary Theresa May will chair a meeting of the government’s Cobra emergency committee to discuss the Calais incident, which occurred on Tuesday.

For several weeks, there have been many attempts by large numbers of migrants to enter the Eurotunnel premises.

There have been significant delays at the tunnel over the last number of days due to the unrest.
