Man arrested in wooded area over €228k cannabis find

Gardaí said the search yesterday was part of an ongoing operation in Cork.

A MAN HAS been arrested in Cork following the seizure of a quantity of cannabis yesterday.

As a result of an ongoing operation by gardaí from the cork drugs unit at Anglesea Street Garda Station, a wooded area at Kilclough in Blarney, Co Cork was searched.

During the search, they uncovered 38 kilos of cannabis resin with a street value of €228,000. A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Guarranabraher garda station.

He is currently being held at the station for drug trafficking offences.
