Teen (15) charged as part of investigation into racially motivated disorder in Newtownabbey

The 15-year-old has been charged with common law riot.

A TEEN HAS been charged by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland investigating racially motivated disorder in Newtownabbey in June,

The 15-year-old was arrested at an address in Newtownabbey this morning and has been charged with common law riot.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21 September.

As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Police made multiple arrests earlier this summer in connection with riots in the area in June.
