Cash stolen in armed raid on Co Sligo post office

A masked man threatened staff and customers inside the Riverstown Post Office this morning before escaping with cash.

GARDAÍ ARE investigating an armed raid on a post office in Riverstown, Co Sligo this morning.

One masked man, armed with what is believed to be a gun, entered the premises at around 10am today and threatened staff and customers. It is understood he escaped from the scene by car with thousands in cash.

Gardaí say the incident is under investigation and are unable to confirm how much money was taken.

No injuries were reported in the raid. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have any information to contact them via any garda station or the Garda Confidential Line: 1800 666 111.
