€250,000 worth of cannabis plants seized in Cavan

A man (42) was arrested at the scene.

CANNABIS PLANTS WORTH an estimated quarter of a million euro were found during a search of a house in Cavan yesterday.

Gardaí said that following a planned search of a house by officers from the Cavan District Crime Unit at Swellen Park, Cavan at approximately 7.45pm yesterday evening, cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €250,000 were seized.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Cavan Garda Station under Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
