Brother of Dana cleared of all sex abuse charges

Dana and her brother hugged after the verdict was read out today in court.

JOHN BROWN, THE brother of Eurovision winner Dana, has been cleared of of all five counts of historic sex abuse.

Earlier today he was cleared of two charges of indecently assaulting a young girl in the 1970s.

BBC News reports that Brown was cleared of assaulting a girl, now aged 47, in the 1970s when she was under the age of 13.

The jury at Harrow Crown Court in London later acquitted him of another three counts, which related to the alleged assault on another girl now aged 53.

The 60-year-old had denied all five counts relating to the assaults, alleged to have taken place in England.

BBC adds that the former Irish presidential candidate who was in court to hear the verdict, hugged before leaving the courtroom.
