Donald Trump: I'll send all Syrian refugees back
The US presidential candidate said many of the refugees could be members of Islamic State.
DONALD TRUMP HAS said if he becomes president he would send home all Syrian refugees taken in by the US.
The BBC reports that Trump told a rally in New Hampshire: “If I win, they’re going back.”
“I hear we want to take in 200,000 Syrians. And they could be – listen, they could be Isis [Islamic State],” Trump said.
He is the current frontrunner in the Republican race for the presidency.
The US has already agreed to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees next year.
A few weeks ago Trump told Fox News the US should take in more refugees.
Last month, a man at one of Trump’s rallies said: “We have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims. We know our current president is one, you know he’s not even an American.
“We have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question, when can we get rid of them?”
The billionaire replied: ”We’re going to be looking at that and plenty of other things”.
He has previously come under fire for comments he made about Mexican immigrants in the US, suggesting a wall be built to separate the two countries.
In June he said this about Mexicans: “They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some I assume are good people, but I speak to border guards, and they tell us what we are getting.”
